Book Description What if your Mom made raisin buns? is the story of a little boy who gets a bit too involved in his mom’s raisin bun baking. He starts taking raisins out of buns, sticking raisins to the walls, drawing arms and legs around the raisins on the walls to make raisin bugs. After welcoming guests into the house his mother gets mad and makes him take all the raisins off the walls. He does this while Gert and Harold, two real bugs, try to keep their distance but end up getting mixed into the mess. About the Author Catherine Hogan Safer is a homesick Newfoundland writer living in Dartmouth. Her novel, Bishop's Road, was shortlisted for the 2005 amazon.ca/Books in Canada First Novel Award. What if Your Mom Made Raisin Buns grew from a story she told her daughters when they were very young. It is her first children's book. Hilda Rose was originally born as a fat fairy between the pages of an old sketchbook. In recent years she has crawled out from between those pages and sits at her drawing table by the ocean in Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia. She loves raisin buns with latte, especially while sitting in her hammock under the big tree as she looks over her garden. As long as she has a supply of pens and paper, she wants to stay there for ever and ever. More Books By Catherine Hogan Safer | |
