Book Description
Tony Paddon has had a full life - to put it mildly. Before coming lieutenant-governor of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1981, he worked for more than thirty years as a pioneer doctor in Labrador.
In Labrador Doctor, W. A. Paddon tells the story of his remarkable life, with all its extraordinary variety, drama and excitement. Born in Indian Harbour, Labrador, and the son of a Grenfell Mission doctor, Paddon himself became a doctor in 1940, and after serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War, went to work with the Grenfell Mission in Labrador.
